Paua Pearlized Seashells

Haliotis australis. Found around New Zealand, the word Paua is Maori for abalone. Natural, the surface is yellowish and the interior is an iridescent mother of pearl. Commonly used for making jewelry. The outer side has been polished to reveal the beautiful iridescence of the sea shell. Measures approx 5".
